speedo reading up to 60km/h then drops down and sometimes bobs about....

which is the first place to look, diff wiring? where does it generally break? Could the SI batteries affect this?

oh year the milometer is not working either

not my car so dont have too much time to play with it so would be good idea to be armed with a little knowledge befroe i have a look at it.

86 325 sport if that makes any difference - my old one :cry:

Diff wiring - anywhere from the plug on the sensor to right up under the seat. SI board won't cause this.

could even be dry or cracked solder on the back of the clocks themselves, ive heard that a good spray of WD40 over the solder remedies this problem for a quick but long lasting fix
