The abs light will not go out!Please could somebody help

What car? what age? What EXACTLY does the ABS light do from the time you turn on the ignition until after you have driven off?

Hi its a 325ic 1987 i turn the key and the light just stays on.Not sure if i need another ecu(abs)or the abs unit itself.Cheers

Have you tried to jump start this car, or done something similar?

Possibly the over-voltage relay, Little silver one next to the ABS control unit.
You can by pass the relay to test it, if the light goes out when you by-pass the relay it's dead.
Never leave the by-pass on as it protects the ABS control unit.
