now, i'm not sure if i need the timing advance unit or not. can anyone advise? i assume it recieves a signal from the leonardo ecu so know whether to adjust the timing or not depending on the fuel being used?

just need an oxygen sensor and some good weather now and i can get stuck in

All looks good! That vapouriser is reckoned to be the best in the business!
Why the two filter/solenoid valves? There's one solenoid valve on the tank outlet, and another on the vapouriser, so just the one filter/solenoid is all that's required.
As far as the timing processor is concerned, you can try it, but it's generally supposed to be found that they don't give the gains that they theoretically should. It'll certainly work perfectly well without it, but since you've got it....
Don't forget to read up on COP11 before you start.

i was wondering about the two valves... upon further searching throught he pile of bits i have, i've found the second is for the other LPG kit i bought at the same time (for my bro) and they'd got muddled up!!!

i'll give the timing processor a go then. can't hurt and if it proves unnecessary, i'll flog it on.

what's COP11? i did a google search and found a load of stuff about climate change or self asessment tax forms!!!!

I've really got to get round to fitting my LPG kit, local petrol has gone upto 104.9p and still rising.

Just gotta get my self a cat flap and a AEB ECU.

time for a quick update i guess...
i've not got a huge amount done but i've refitted the towbar etc and fabricated a rather swish looking bracket for the electrical socket and lpg filler. the tank is assembled with the multivalve and mounted in the spare wheeel well. then all sealed in etc.
next step is to mount the evaporator and plan a route for the pipework and wiring...

oh, brian, i got the CD and wiring diagram etc! cheers matey! time to build the lead now...

things are slow on mine at the moment - all on hold while i straighten my rear suspension! whoops!
anyway, before doing that, i got the tank fitted, the filler installed and plumbed into the tank. the evaporator mounted (tight squeeze, under my servo!)

Looking good. I'm planning on relocating my LPG filler to my newly fitted towbar (currently its mounted in the bumper, but is a crap style filler which needs an adaptor screwing in every time I fill up - and it can make getting the LPG filler nozzle off difficult at times).

The bonus of having it located on the bumper or towbar is you can fill up from either side of the pump.

Are you planning on replacing the zip ties with something more longterm? I always find the 8mm filler pipe a pain to bend and line up correctly, especially fitting it to the tank valve so you've done a hard part.

i was thinking of something better for the location of the pipe but with the donut tank sitting in the spare wheel well, drilling and fitting screws fpr 'P' clips or similar is a no-no! once it's all bent and fitted, it sat there very well without any form of clip or anything so i may just upgrade to bigger tye wraps at some stage! i agree with the hassle of bending the stuff, took me ages to get it all in there nearly! the worst part was indeed going up through the vent and into the centre of the tank and onto the valve, what an arse!!!!

There's a hard way and an easy way of doing most things! This was the hard way!
Easy way: Take your coil of 8mm pipe, form the loop to the outlet port of the multivalve, cut off approximately the length you need from the coil, straighten it out, feed it down through the vent tube (helps to have the car six feet up on a ramp, otherwise bend it gently as it comes through), fine tune the loop to the multivalve inside the gas tight compartment, connect it, then route the pipe under the car to the filler.

Will this set up work and what other parts would i need ?

Is multipoint injection worth the extra cost ? Or is it worth it as it can be run well and optimized with my ECU ?

ECU : Emerald - mapped to suit LPG - it can switch between maps on the fly so i could start on petrol then switch it over to gas once it's warmed up a bit
Multi point injectors - new injector boss's welded to the manifold
Tank - not sure which shape i'd go for yet
Filler

Instalation inspection for the insurance

Do you need a vapouriser(evaporator ?) for multipoint injection ?

Still need a vapouriser for multipoint vapour injection. You wouldn't for liquid injection, but that's largely uncharted territory.
Plenty of insurers out there that don't require a certificate.(And plenty that do!)

Need to be able to flow enough. A lot of vapourisers tend to max out at about 190 bhp, which makes them marginal for a lot of E30 applications. There are larger ones available, though, or you can use two in parallel (for vapour injection).

Couldn't see the point in starting a new one when most of the info is here but theres a couple of things i wanted to ask...

Can i use a Ford/Bosch 4 wire lambda off my escort (removed thanks to a code reader but turned out to be fine, so its going spare at the moment)

And any ideas where to put the filler on a touring without a tow bar that dosent involve cutting a big hole in the metalwork?

Don't tell anyone, but a Ford one is what's on mine at the moment.
In the absence of a towbar, I suppose you could fabricate a bracket that is sandwiched between the RH bumper mount and the body, and hangs down beneath the bumper. Would have to be offset to one side, though, to clear the tow hook. Could possibly feed the fill line in through the hole in the valence for the tow hook?
Where ever you fit the filler, bear in mind that LPG filler connectors are heavy devices, so the car filler needs to be quite rigidly mounted to avoid bending its mounting.
Fillers have also been mounted recessed into the rear bumper.

Looks a good buy! Tank, filler, filter and vapouriser should all be usable. Mixer looks like it might do as well, and the backfire 'cat flap' depends on the diameter of the AFM outlet. I would think that an A6 one is probably bigger than a 320 one, but it might just be the same as a 325.
Looks like this might be a very basic system with no ECU and lambda feedback control loop, so I'd advise looking out for an AEB Millenium or Leonardo to go with it.

E30 wheel well will take 630mm max, and this one's 600mm.
I think it's going to stick out of the top by about 35mm though.
