How much we talking, what sort of condition and when?
Funnily enough I was wondering where these can be had just today!
Were they fitted to Omega diesels, or did I imagine that?

means some paltry power output compared to the 525tds lump (143bhp)

So was the Omega equiped with an M20 diesel and as such, would the crank be forged?
I'm day dreaming about building another TT only this time a 2.7 with sequential turbos, reasonably low compression, forged pistons and rods, biiiiig boost, a lairyish cam (for a turbocharged engine) a nice high red line.....and like all my best projects it'll take me about 10 years to complete!

the 324d/524d was an m21 diesel based on the m20 block
d= 86bhp, 112ft/lb torque
td= 115bhp and 155ft/lb torque
the 325td/s was an m51 based on the m50
td= 115bhp, 162 ft/lb torque
tds=143bhp and 206ft/lb torque
meaning that the omega may well have a forged crank, but its the wrong engine... the m51 stroke is 82.8mm instead of 81mm
maybe custom pistons may assist?
interesting to note they offered a 740d on the continent, the m57 v8- 245bhp and 425ft/lb torque (at 1750rpm

)

Bottom end only, But no thats not where they will be comming from.
Will also be looking at the bringing back the intercooler's (if big enough)
and Pipe work. Think the manifold's will only house small low pressure turbo.
I will have to work out cost's of all part's, looking to happen just after new year..

Why can't the m51 crank be used? people use the m50 crank.

Right after my recent trip I Have stored some complete 2.4 td engines complete. Charge pipes, manifolds, turbos ect. I have to go over a couple more times to get more as i need to bring a lot back to make it worth while. Fortunatly i have friends to help over in spain so storage is free. and they can check for ones comming avalible,
Will you keep updated.

Im aiming to be able to supply the cranks for around 200, a fair price. i can't say on shells coz i don't know the condition yet.

No point using old shells when new ones are so cheap. More concerned with the condition of the journals on the crank but if you can do me one for £200 I'm definately in!

the M57 is the diesel equivalent to the M54. they also produce the M57TU and M57TU2, all 6 cylinder with small variants.
The V8 diesels available on the continent are the M67 twin turbo diesel V8's and these things roar!!!
im not picking, just clarifying...

Marc the com rods cant be used without work. so if you just ship the cranks over it may be cheaper ?
