Crosshairs to Smoke Your High Beams

Hey all. New to the site, writing from the US. I've been quite involved with E30's for some time now, and just finished a batch of these crosshairs to smoke your highbeams.

They are spot on, and are waterjet cut from 22 gauge steel.

The PDF template that was used can be found here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/Hella.pdf

DIY article here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthr ... ght=smoked

And the current "for sale" thread can be found here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=131594

I have been offering these for $30 shipped locally here in the US, and recently quoted a fellow UK member @ $35 shipped.

I will offer them for $30 shipped if we can get 10 to sign up, or $27 shipped if we get 20 to sign up.

If we can't meet the quota, I will still offer to you @ $35 shipped.

Please don't worry about being scammed here, I know it's my first post on your site. I would be more than happy to send a "good-faith" set to a moderator before accepting any money.

Cheers
Turk

does the template they're cut from fit the uk spec lights on the later e30's [1991 with smiley's?] any pics of them in the light housing and the lens off to see how good the fit is also?

These are actually replicas from standard European Ellipsoid lights, not the U.S. lights, taken from a set of broken Smiley's.

So they are an exact match to the orginal Hella smoked highs that we (Americans) get from you guys (Euros).

If you take a look at this link, you will see a picture with them in, and lenses off. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthr ... ght=smoked

Thanks for your inquiry.

**Also, not sure if they are available to you guys, but they will work in DEPO lights as well**

thing is i downloaded that template, pulled the lense off a spare light and the template looked wrong... the light was too tall for the cutout on the crosshair template, that why i'm bit skeptical as to them fitting right....

I can find more pictures for you, then. Besides that, all I can say is trust me, they fit.

When you notch out the housing, and get the tabs to poke through, you will have about 3mm or so that sticks out of the housing. The lens has a dome so when you place it on top, it sits flush on the crosshairs.

I'll be back with more pics.

They fit Hella lamps, not Bosch which is what I assume your trying to do mccarthy?

Any idea if they are the right shape for pre-facelift lamps?

Guys, take a look at the original DIY link and you will see the guy first did them on his Bosch lights, he says it in the first line.

I do not know if they work with pre-facelift lights, though.

I understand the skepticism, but these have been used on all combinations of Ellipsoid lights with no issues; Hellas, Boschs, with and w/o smilies, with and without citylights.

Thanks for the discussion, though.

Sorry to say it but they are right.

The Hella cross-hairs are too small for Bosch lights.

I've smoked Hella and Bosch E30 lights as well as E34 Hellas and the cross-hairs I made up for the Hellas hadn't a hope of fitting the Bosch units.

So, to confirm, these 'crosshairs' will not fit in my 1988 bosch non smileys?
