1993 BMW E30 Touring 328i Track Car

Sold as a drift car in 2015 this arrived with RallyPrep during Spring 2017 where they took the car back to bare shell before de-rusting the car, cleaning the underside and protecting it. They also seem welded the engine bay, strengthened the diff mounting area and fabricated very good quality mounts for the hydro and coolerworx shifter. An M52B28 was fitted along with E30 M3 rear diff, full braided lines, suspension setup etc etc to the tune of a bill totaling over £11k.

After now driving this car a few times on road and track events I have fallen in love with its raw speed and agility so im going to be spending some extra time and money getting it right for next seasons on track events and road trips.

So I bought the car and it looked quite drifty which i'm not overly keen on. I'm not into big body kits or aero so the car is basically going to look OEM minus the obvious track parts. It will get used for road, trackdays, sprints, autosolos and road trips, although i'm not sure about fuel consumption to the Nürburgring and back.

A few simple things first. Fit one of my favourite steering wheels (that I actually got for my mrs haha). Removed the rear wheels so I could clean up the rear coilovers and protect them for winter. and also weighed it at my mates workshop as I was concerned it was going to be quite heavy, however its really not at 1096KG with 25KG of fuel in :). Very pleased with that tbh. Plenty more weight to save in the future if needed.

Oh and I found some BBs 15's with unused Toyo R888's on for just £300...Bargain!

Great stuff, keep us updated.

Many of our members have done the trip to Nürburgring and back in their E30s so I'm guessing the fuel consumption can't be that bad, oh well maybe it is, but it will be fun getting there and back. :D

Hey Steve,

Yea I have done the trip with an M52 before but the my E30 tops out at 120mph with 4.1 FD so at 70 its still screaming lol. I have done one way on a tank and half in a 35 with longer FD before :)

Load of stuff done and on its way for the TTC over the past few weeks.

New OEM front wings, OEM BBS wheels, bargain Gaz Golds from ebay, new tyres for wet and dry, my usual steering wheel fitted. The M52 alternator failed last week so I sourced a 2nd hand one. And I have dropped it off to my friends for paint. I'm going for factory gloss black before decals are applied.

Also bought some lovely Zender split rims which i'm having custom made with new lip to make them 8.25J. Should actually make them lighter and wider.

Also I have been using the car. did two sessions at our recent Combe trackday with great results. Gaz Golds will improve the overall ride along with a good Geo setup. And im in need of a Wilwood setup really to avoid any brake fade im getting.

Also we did an autosolo type event which was huge fun with the hydro to help me out.
