They work for me and I'm impressed with the field of view - I went for the convex ones rather than flat. However, if you've got a beefy cage then they *might* get in the way...

Given I've got a beefy cage coming up, mine might be for sale....

I do have a full cage, I'll have to take a look to see if its in the way.

I can't find any mirror blanking plates for sale anywhere, so id have to make some. How was carbon fibre to work with? (Cut, finish, etc)

Now, it depends on what you mean by 'full' - let me be a little clearer - my current 'full' cage is a Safety Devices 6 point bolt in job - this is just fine with the mirror I have fitted - if anything, they give a better field of view than the OEM ones with the convex lens.

My new 'full' roll cage is full weld in with an extra bar that goes down the A pillar to the floor - this *may* obstruct the view a touch which is why I am leaving my final decision for when the doors are on and the seat is in place.

You'll definitely have to make some plates - I just used the rubber gaskets as templates and the carbon pieces turned out ok. If you get fairly thin stuff, it's a doddle to work with. Just use a hacksaw with a new blade to cut it - cut with the shiny side facing upwards and cover that surface in masking tape and you should be good. Straight cuts are easy - I use a normal metal file carefully for the radius'd parts.

Sorry, yes currently I have a bolt in full 6 point (I think) cage I guess by beefy cage you mean wrc rally car style with the reinforcing gussets and stuff?

I'll definitely give making my own blanking plates out of carbon fibre a go. Cheers for the advice.

Are you building yours for a particular purpose? Hill climbs, timeattack or something?

Yep - full custom cages multi point weld in with extra pieces here and there..

I just want the shell to be as stiff as possible so I can get the suspension to work properly and be as safe as I can - just track days planned for it so far, but I and getting the shell done so it can be used for hill climbs and sprints as well.

Really must get that update sorted...
