Hello Chaps
Just found this on pistonheads. Are there any threads on hear detailing the s2000 engine swap.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3888040.htm
Looks like the new donk has been moved right back and down for weight distribution cutting the tranny tunnel to make it all fit.
Must be a brave man with all that grunt and lap times minus a cage.
What do we all think.
Scott

Just throwing it out there.
Some info on the engine swap would be good.
I would love to build my own. Looks a proper weapon. Needs a cage IMO though.

Well, he was not really forth coming with the engine and what modifications it had as it was quite clear that it was a very quick car on the track, even in the straights, very little could keep with it.
Its a good reliable track car, that honda engine is a work of art! I do agree it needs a cage, but hes trying to keep the weight down as much as possible.
Is it worth 8.5k? Not sure.

^^^ +1
The Honda engine is a lovely bit of kit. From the very little I know about the conversion, the biggest issue is the height of the engine - bit of a squeeze in that axis...
Worth 8.5k? Given how much an S14 costs to build and install....

Nice build and 960kb too! Some of the work is a little too agricultural for my tastes but I can appreciate the time and effort.darren_mk wrote:This is worth a read for you,

Just had a good read through the build thread.
I agree some of it does look a bit farm yard engineering. The bulk head chop looks a lot of work but the engine does look nice and far back.
I can't help thinking it would be an easier build if the donk would go on an e30 sub frame.
I know it would sacrifice some handling but if it saves a bit of time????

I just found this link on You Tube
From watching the vid you can see that there has been no mod to the bulk head. I would love to see the fabrication to the sub frame to see how it fits.
