Bmw 325 turbos:

http://www.jdturbocharging.com/4436.html

http://www.bimmerjim.com

...The above two sites are pretty much DIY guides on how to turbocharge the m20 engine effectively showing some of the mishaps along the way. Both sites are a very good read!

Other turbo sites to get the principals of turbocharging:

http://www.beesandgoats.com/boostfaq/g2icturbo.html

...The above site is VERY comprehensive about turbocharging a honda, a very interesting read.

http://www.homemadeturbo.com/

...Despite the lovely picture on the home page this is about turbocharging not girls sprawled on desks :D Got a good forum, lots of knowledge on the board, but mainly jap crap turbocharging.

http://members.shaw.ca/turbofiero/fmu.htm

... A quick explanation about FMU(fuel management units) and RRFPR(rising rate fuel pressure regulators).

A Bmw turbo forum which i know some of you visit:
http://www.e30tech.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=35
Good info there...they are the daddies on Megasquirt.

ANY MORE USEFUL LINKS PLEASE POST THEM...
Whether is Bmw turbos, superchargers, non bmw turbos, any force fed link is welcome!

The more info/links we collate the more we'll learn about doing it properly!

I found this useful for finding which turbo goes on which car.
or which car has what turbo (is there a difference?)

http://www.turbomaster.info/eng/

you can search b part number or car

I used it to find out what the "E-BAY" turbo`s were off when buying mine

Ooh, here are some handy sites :)

http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/

Some of the maps are hand drawn, but probably still usable.

This one is probably of more interest:

http://turbocalculator.com/sale-garrett.php

They have some flow maps available but more improtantly, check out the prices!

E.g. for a 0.63 AR T3 turbo, they charge $459 which works out at Ԛ£253 (XE convertor) which means that even with VAT, that's only Ԛ£297. Even if you had to add a ton for shipping, you're still looking at less than Ԛ£400!

Think you'd be hard pushed to get one reconditioned over here for that!

Also, check out the beast at the bottom of the Garrett GT Turbos page. Who else wants "up to 2000bhp" ?!

Think when mine fail, I'll go for a pair of GT28R jobbies which weigh in at about Ԛ£1k. Mmmmmmm ball bearing turbos :)

Enjoy! :)

If anyone wants to make up their own M20 manifold, follow this link and click on BMW to download a free copy of a CAD file that can be used by a laser cutter to make cylinder head flanges.

There are terms and conditions (nothing onerous) but I do NOT expect to see people using this to make them selves any money!

I had a look at this a while ago and noticed that they were unfortunatly dead. I did have a very quick look for a direct replacements but I couldn't find it. So its not really the mods problem as it doesn't exist :(

Good one for stainless steel hoseclips: -

Pisces Engineering
01786 870014
www.pisces-aqua.co.uk

It is an aquatics place but the hoseclips are completely stainless (including the worm) and very reasonably priced and staff are very helpful. I used them for my 2.7 rebuild.

Here's the link to the FAQ of which I'm responsible:

http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3237

The old e30tech link in the first post is dead, the last forum upgrade changed things around.

Oil pressure adapter for most bmw engines to work as a oil feed port.

M12x1.5mm male and female with a 1/8th female NPT port. - LMA052

M12x1.5mm male and female with a M10 female port. - LMA052/m

Spacing might be required to adjust the location of the port to work with a oil feed line when screwed into the oil filter housing or M20 block.

available on ebay and here - http://www.lmaperformance.com/products-guages.html

M50 vanos oil feed: Get a double length Banjo bolt to replace the single length vanos oil feed, then buy your oil feed line with a M14 banjo fitting.
