hey all,
im pickin up an e30 325 on sat and have wanted boost for a while,
while on my random trawling on ebay i came accross this kit, not that comprehensive but has all the major components, that could be upgraded over time,
after a sensible is 300 bhp (not a definate figure just a guide)
a t3 will do that easy.
has anyone tried it yet? im a mechanic by trade so fitting wont be an issue as i tig weld etc.
worth a punt or make my own setup from scratch?

I would but I'm not into tourings, and the 325 I'm picking up is £900!
I could build a turbo setup alot cheaper, his is a bit overkill for what I'm after.
I know the turbo in that kit is a Chinese jobbie but on a t3 flange it's easy enough to swap when it goes pop.
think I'm gonna go custom kit anyways, just management to think about then.

Those kits are really shite and if they go they will take your engine with it.
I have a mega squirt set-up with wasted spark etc all ready to go if you are interested PM me.
the parts soon add up mate trust me !!!! ross knows this very well
if you FI a shite old donk it will go bang etc all i know those small turbo set-ups really struggle to boost M20's i have seen and helped a many turbo build if you do it cheap it will go bang ! even if you are in the trade a M20 will cost you best part of a bag of sand to rebuild
My 2p's worth :D

Best mani you could buy is a volk 666fab one not cheap I think there like $1000
You'll need updated headbolts to hold the head down under boost i can get arp head studs quite cheap
a standard head gasket will suffice
As for turbo if your after a modest 300 bhp some thing like a holset hx35 or a nice size t4 or a t04
Management you can use pretty much anything you like emerald megasquirt vems aldepends on ya price you wanna pay people go for megasquirt coz there relatively cheap and easy to use and do exactly what they say on the box
I've got a ms2 on mine not had no problems with it
The rest is pretty much plumbing intercooler pipe work etc

I would stress do not skrimp on tuning that is the most important thing on these engines for a good reliable power :)

The 666 wouldn´t be the best to buy, the best to buy is a custom designed one for your application.

A HX35 is a little on the large side for just 300hp.

For ECU go with whatever you or your tuner is happy with. Tuners don´t like to see new ecu´s that take up alot of their time.

Your mate wont be much use for you there as LHD and RHD manifold are different.
