E30 Zone

I have a problem with my drivers window - simply it does not go down/up ! I can press the window control and then physically push the window down at the same time - however I'm worried that if I do this I might not get the window back up - this obviously would prevent me from using the car for obvious security reasons !

I have been told that I need a new window regulator and motor !

Can anyone help re the parts or a scrap door from which they could be taken ?

Have you checked fuses and such? I know these older switches can also clog up internally and the contacts do not....contact... each other correctly stopping it from functioning. Check simple things first before digging into the door. If you have a multimeter and are comfortable carrying out some simple diagnosis you can check to see if the power is even getting to the regulator.
