Anyone know the part number or source model for the fuel map switch labelled S and N and lights up green or red. Or how to take it apart. The back of the switch comes off easy, but the S and N buttons will not pop out. The S button (high octane map) will not stay depressed.

I'll reply to myself, just in case anyone else has a similar issue to resolve. First, the part number is 91 47 1 356 630. That was the good news, the bad news was that I could not find one anywhere nor could I establish where else the switch was used. I have however fixed the issue.

I bought a new AirCon switch 61.31.1.380.557 (expensive for the size of it!) which works in a similar way. I replaced my existing aircon switch with the new one so that I could use the old aircon switch as my replacement.

The plan was to pull it apart and replace the air con buttons with the S/N buttons but in the end I took the side out of the switch, extracted the little white arms that slide in and out (one of mine was broken) and fitted the good ones to the old fuel switch - job done.

Interesting idea. Do you notice much difference between the two settings?

Not really, but then I wouldn't, I always use the higher octane map and shell v power. These days I suspect knock sensors do the job automatically
