bit off topic 'mini'

2006 mini failed mot on rear brake pipes. tried searching and real oem but cant find anything for pipe size ie 3/16 or flare type, does anyone know off hand so i can get it in before hand. gotta do the wishbone bushes as well this weekend, lots of new swear words at hand. thanks

Sure I commented on this on Facebook.

The thread size is M10x1 and you'll need 3/16s pipe.

IIRC there is a join just above the front subframe which if you lower the subframe slightly, which you'll be doing anyway for your bushes you can run them from there to the rear. As that's what I usually do.

M10x1 (as per Max) male brake pipe unions. DIN pipe flares (see below). 3/16 pipe (or 4 mm). Use kunifer alloy rather than copper if you're making your own :)

sorry maxfield. you know doubt did and ive missed it. i wasnt planning on lowering the subframe. was gonna unbolt the wishbone and take it out the bush then use the tool to remove and replace the bush. sounds easy when i write it like that but know it isnt

To get the wishbone out you'll need to drop the subframe as the bolts go downwards, they're 18mm for the rear bracket and are tight!

You don't need to drop the subframe to remove the wishbone. The wishbone pulls out of the bush once both ball joints have been unbolted and then the bush can be pulled out of the housing with the correct tool.
