OBD data pin voltage problem on my E34

Hi folks,

I've been having an on-going saga with my E34 airbag light. I can't get anything to communicate with the OBD to reset it.

I have come to the conclusion that there is a problem with the data wiring that goes to pin 20 on the OBD port. Pin 20 is linked with the SRS, ABS, EWS, Anti theft, memory seats, sunroof, central locking, instrument cluster, OBC, Transmission and Engine control (DME).

The voltage with the ignition off is approx. 2 volts which is normal. When the ignition is switched on it drops to 0 volts. It should go up to approx. 10V.

Does anyone have the slightest clue how I should proceed from here?
