E30 Zone

as the title says, after a pretty short drive (20mls) the valve cover is scorching hot!
its been said on here they don't get that hot?
am I paranoid

it should get pretty hot, it'll be getting splashed on the underside by hot engine oil which could be 90+ degrees!

it shouldnt be glowing red hot, but it'll definately get hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch.
