as above really..
seen a few sets of metric e34 wheels I like that are cheap but want to know if its possible to fit normal imperial tyres?

I dont know anybody thats tried it nor have I heard of anybody thats tried it, but a 390 tyre is only 9mm larger than a 15 inch, so 4.5mm a side/radius, maybe you should post the question on one of the differ forums, they are after all the masters of tyre stretching/bodging

That 9mm is 27mm at the circumference though dan, there's only one man on here that can stretch a hole that much and he isn't in to rubbers.
reality of the thing though, the metal in the beading won't allow it without stretching the steel bead.

From what I know the Metrics have a different bead on the wheel/tyre as they were an early form of run flats. Normal imperial tyres are not compatible with the wheel. Only tyres that fit are Metrics and they are new old stock as far as I am aware. Expensive for old rubber.
Whilst Imperial tyres can be stretched onto metric rims with enough air pressure and tyre lube, it would be about the most dangerous and stupid thing to do. It's one pothole away from breaking the bead an an instant blowout. Forget it.
