I've got a 535i it's got the most fuckin stupid abs ecu, can't find it anywhere! BMW as usual want stupid price 1k for it, and most used are very very hard to find
Is there some sort of DIY fix or another way? If ayone knows,
It's the most rare one, if anyone's breaking and has got one, please pm!
Thanks

Hi
Had an E36 316i with a busted ECU. Had spoken to Philip Vernon in Shropshire, many years back and he had promised to work on it, if I mailed it to him from India, which didn't happen for lack of funds
His number was 7745554011. Not sure if it is still the same.

Had this on my last 530i sport. When you say you can't find it, it's screwed to the front of the main ABS unit to the off side inner wing
Seriously. BBA reman sorted mine. They were not perfect first time round but 2nd time, sorted it.
Doing it this way they repair your old one and so no recoding is required (as it's your existing unit coded to your chassis number)
Turnaround was fairly quick.

Depends on whether the car has ASC, DSC etc, 001 or 002 ECU. I can get a brand new Bosch one for not much more than a BBA reman and hundreds less than BMW rob...I mean charge for the same thing. Very often they go straight on, work perfectly and don't need coding. What's the issue with yours?
