Air con not working on E46

E46 318i Y2K,I had it re-gassed 7/2011 ,it worked great but I tried this week and there's a hissing noise from the air vents when you switch on the icing button but it gets quieter as you rev the engine.There is air comming out the vents but not ice cold,any ideas!

If it was last filled in 2011 i woudl just say it need regassing, i fill mine once every six months on the E30, the hissing here gives me a clue.
but look on the wheel arch under the bonnet and you will see a pipe that runs from the compressor toward the firewall (ie into the back of the dashbaord, this pipe will have a small valve on it and the one they would have filled your gas with). With the Ac on is this getting cold? (not cool)
Yes its icy cold..the problem lies with your fan/air vents/temp control unit
No..the problem lies with your gas or your compressor. Check the fuse that pulls the AC clutch in, or watch to see if the compressor "clicks" when a mate turns on the Ac button. if this works then your issue is gas or a duff compressor.
also note that you should put your AC on at least once a week, even in winter for a few minutes otherwsie the seals dry out and the gas escpaes.
