Has anyone got 1 or a pair of the Recaro front seats with the wider headrests? (not sure what they're called but not the BMW sport seats)
Thanks,
Bryn

They will be either Recaro LS (wider bolsters) or Recaro LX (thinner bolsters) both could be fitted as OEM to the E30 . . I will warn you thet are hard to come by now and priced accordingly for genuine BMW ones. Also quite a few passed off as genuine but are not. The genuine OEM ones have BMW covers on the hinge area and a couple of other differences I can't remember off the top of my head.
I have been searching for some years now for covers to replace some broken ones on mine. I would buy a complete seat for spares but not much has come up.
The alternative is to find some period recaro LS or LX from a Ford or VX (that are a lot cheaper) and fit them to the BMW subframe. There is an official Recaro part for this but also many copies made that are much cheaper. Depends on how OEM you want to be.

Thanks for the reply.
They are for my 1985 Alpina C2 restomod I'm doing, it came with original passenger seat which is a Recaro LS or LX I guess but no driver's seat. I'm having them recovered by the guy in Poland (Marek) who does the Alpina replica seats. I'll dig the passenger seat out and try to match it up on Google to establish which one it actually is

Marek does replicas of the original BMW covers for the seats and a lot of parts, so if you supply him a correct LX or LS of any make he will be the best person to make them look the same.
I am waiting to find originals but If I do not I will be getting the replica covers from him.
This might help you identify the seat

Not many know them by the correct name so searching for an LSC won't yeild many results. Look for a Ford Recaro and they will most likely be LS and most will be LSC.

Thanks again, are these the exact same as the BMW seats minus the BMW branding? ie. when recovered will look the same?

No they are not the same seat exactly because the recliner and base will be different but they should be able to be fitted to BMW comfort and / or sport seat bases with an appropriate bracket.
The Recaro bracket number 67.54.09 fits any Recaro with a flat seat base to the BMW seat base frame. Most Recaro LSC have the same base pattern as the SR that the brackets were made for.
I used most of the padding and bolsters from a good set of Ford seats to replace the knackered ones on my original BMW (Alpina) ones and everything from the padding and much of the mechanism side is identical.
Have a chat with Marek to see what he does as to make the regular LSC fit in the BMW.
Like I say it will be the easiest way forward unless you really want an original seat, then you will probably be looking for a while - (I have) and paying more than a pair of good used Ford ones. Unless you really know, 99% would not be able to tell the difference.

Sorry yes I did realise the bases would be different, I was just checking that the base and back bolsters are the same and they will look like the same seats once recovered. That's good enough for me as the covers obviously won't be original anyway
Thanks again for your help, much appreciated!
I will probably sell my original Alpina LSC by the way, it's the passenger seat from a LHD car so UK driver's

No worries, good luck with it,

PM me first refusal on the seat, like I say I have been looking for a while.
