My mate in his Mk2 does 11s with 500-600hp and 12" wide slick tyres. So I'd question 12.6.

But it is a rather nice car.

Andy Harris' na pinto powered mk1 lifts the front wheels when launching - escorts are properly quick when set up correctly.

A friend of mine has run a 9.8 quarter at 143mph in a yb powered mk2 and on much smaller tyres than 12 " wide!

I actually saw this run at the Brighton Speed Trials about 3 years ago. It's a very serious piece of kit!!!

It's going to go like fuck isn't it. 12.6 is plausible as Mk1 escorts only weigh like 900kgs, but notice it's all off the line as the trap speed is 'only' 105mph which is the same as something like an e46 m3. Bloody quick either way.

20k plus is a stupid amount of money but that will be so much more fun to drive around a nice B road than an e30 m3 etc.

No bruvs will bid on it either.

I'll not seen too much of the map stuff close up aside from a 200sx that I flipped a few years ago.

I guess some are getting on a bit now.
