Pondering switching up things and getting one of these - has anyone driven one for a decent stretch? How do they compare to the E30?
I've only had a test drive, but it was a nice car. Feels a little lacking in power which sounds daft given it has 200 bhp, which is more than a 325. Rides well, sounds like almost every other 4 pot, spec is decent.
Obviously being a test drive I couldn't hoon it around but you need to rev it hard to feel that your making much progress.
In the end I opted for a new Focus ST-2 instead as the interior was nicer, better equipped and via Drive the deal considerably cheaper. I know there not really comparable as the Focus is a FWD hatch, but its pretty rapid, just as economical, has rear seats and is better spec'd.
I think as a 2nd car I would have been more than happy with it, but as a daily it would have bored me in the end.
