Anyone familiar with VW mk4 golfs?...

I have a 1.8T with an AUM engine and about two weeks ago the stop light came on with the coolant message, the coolant was fine and circulating and the temperature in the heating was good....
I got it plugged in today and it returned 2 fault codes
1) po412
2) po117
Does anyone know if they they are related faults?
Since this happened the car really struggles from a cold start, every morning needs 4 turns to start and then it sits there spluttering and misfiring for a min or two.
