Manta with a red-top donk would go well
Do it

+ 1
A well looked after XE is reliable and returns decent mpg figures, with plenty of tuning capability

llllllolololololololololololololololol
pacer youre so right. I spoke to a dude recently who mentioned £12k for a back axle! Ford boys are a little wierd.
A manta A would be lovely just a little too old for a daily.

NOW you're talking. I was never into Mantas, wheezy old shitters IMO. But the Monza was a good looking mans car.

Funny you should bring that one up Pete....
Was wondering about reliability of the dash? I think these have a slipper too?

I believe they all had an LSD at that age. The biggest issue is rust. They had inner flitch dramas by the 90s and I believe rear trailing arms rot out as well
Its mileage and spec are great, its location(handy for you for collection though !) not quite so

To have lasted this long, I assume the owner is a paedo and it is dripping in waxoil etc .

I'd have either an early (pre '83) Monza or the Vauxhall Royale - silver with red velours. You could have the 2.8 140 bhp donk with the 4A1 Solex carbatooter or the 3.0 with L Jet.
If you can find one, the pre 83 four door Senator or Royale saloon would be a fine chariot.

..how about a Bitter SC

Because of the underpinnings, never really a proper exotic...
..file under the all marketing and no trousers brigade like the Panther Rio.. possibly

[quote="diable"]Did that Monza have the same electronic dash that the Astra GTE have?[/quote
Similar. I had an 84 A 3.0 CDE Senator (Opel). The dash was well funky!

The Bitter is a proper hero chariot and always has been, unlike said Panther, or any Panther for that matter.

According to the bahnstormer site, a lot of parts are simply non existant, including some regular service items and body panels just dont exist.
not what i expected at all....
