No such thing as a Mark 3 1600GT. The GT ran in the Mark 1 and the early Mark 2 up until mid 1976 when it was replaced by the S.
Mark 3 1600's aren't worth a lot but even a rotten Mark 2 has a value for rare parts.

Quad lights were for the GXL and RS2600/3100 plus the US market cars. GT's had oblong headlights.

Did pop in but he was not in. I will try again tomorrow.
I am sure he said a mk3 1600gt but I could be wrong. The only other thing was he said its yellow.

A Mark 3 Cortina is a LOT more desirable than a Capri. A saveable pre facelift GT is a sought after car to restore.

Practical Classics magazine values a Mk3 GT at £500 (Cond.3), £1300 (Cond.2), £2750 (Cond.1).

However, they are 2 litre, not 1600.

Dispite this thread being about a cortina, I have just had this come in for what looks like a full resto. It looks ok but there is much rot, and horrors yet to be found I'm sure. Any one got a lower front panel kicking around this one is fooked  as are the sills, wings, and lower A pillars.

Oh this IS a mk1 capri 1600GT

That is what I thought when I peered over the owners hedge to see it for the first time. But it is a mixed bag, the back end has survived well, but the sills that have been welded over the originals are dire as is the front panel (I do really need one of these, desperately), and dispite the pics the paint is awful, I dont like modern paint on old cars but this looks ok. The vinyl roof is excellent but some helmet has cut a modern sun roof in to it  but now the owner wants a webasto in it.

The owner came to look at it today and gave the go ahead, so it will be on a spit soon.

Yes a very pretty car, you usually find the first incarnation of a marque is the most aesthetically pleasing.

There is a big autojumble round my way, but I'm at the Pod, so I will have to send the owner on a scouting mission, only thing is he know nothing about cars, oh joy :D

Pre facelift mk1 gt ftw! Be even better if I were a 3ltr though.
