...about the only 'yank' I could get excited about is a 'US spec SL Merc. With the diving boards and quad headlamps, you could pretend you're in an episode of Columbo and have just bludgeoned a colleague/ rival/ spouse to death :)

^^ You seriously like that US Spec SL ?? Even over an Euro spec one.?...

Those oversized bumpers totally ruined an elegant design imo....

...it gets by on kitsch appeal. An early European car on hub caps would be nice too :)

American spec of most European cars ruin them!! Bumpers that are 8ft deep with massive over riders - just terrible!

That looks like a TR7 with a yank body kit!! Still better looking than a TR7 itself though.

Maybe you guys should look past e30 m3's and realise there are more interesting cars to be found.

The Buick is a classic and one of the more better looking coupes of the time. It was famous for blowing the doors off any production corvette or camero when released, although they did then put the same engine in a firebird iirc. Another nice if what slower car from the time was chevrolet monte Carlo.

It's still too much money IMO Chris, the Thunderbird sat in the garage looks nice though!

My 30 car collection would have about 10 yanks. 63 Lincoln, 60 Coupe de Ville, 69 Mustang Fastback, 70 Challenger and Barracuda, 66 Galaxie 2 door, a really well tricked 71 Pinto, 63 Corvette Coupe and a 67 Pontiac Bonneville Coupe.

Niiiiiiiiiice.

As outrageously nice as the big yanks are, what the foook could you do with them apart from drive to a couple of shows every year and polish them? No point trying to park them anywhere in this country unless you were booked in!

If you lived in a narrow road without a drive then yes it would be stupid to buy a large yank motor.

The trade up is fantastic styling(and noise) which gives attention/respect for just being cool. Something that you will never get from driving any e30/old escort/mk1 golf etc.

Can't argue with that 8)

There is something about a proper yank with a heavy motor that reaches places a 6-pot can only dream of...

A big yank is like a bird with a big hairy minge, epic :D
