There's room for a few ex-gangsters in that boot!

No.
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no.
The '71 is interesting but the game was lost by that point. The first 3 years were the best, and unlike Mustangs etc they still aren't well known or appreciated.
If we were talking Moostangs, then yes, the 69-73 fastbacks are far more interesting than the hyped up early stuff.

If I could pick one hole in the car Blitz posted:
WTF is that wood patch all about and the finish on the wood is generally pretty shit TBH.
Other than that, what a car!!!!!!

I had a triple black '65. I bought it in the early '90s for a bag with a growly bottom end. I rebuilt the engine with a naughty cam, headers and a few other bits and served it on about a year later.
I still have vivid memories of being in the outside lane of the M25 doing well over the wrong side of a ban and wondering what the burning smell was , I quickly pulled over to find the A/C compressor clutch glowing red and smoke everywhere
That gold car has had a particularly nasty retrim and the wood which actually was real in these looks completely wrong. A shame really as the rest of the car looks stunning. We won't even discuss the shocking radio !
I have also had a couple of '66s and a '67 which was the Earls Court motor show car, alas long gone

love that back end. it's nice to see such discreet rear lights, instead of the usual square yards of bulky plastic smothering the rear of new cars
