The SC (which is what is shown above I think) was based around the Senator / Royal base. The 3.0 straight six was a superb engine, but having owned an 83 Senator, I have to say that it was a great chassis and running gear, surrounded by a shite quality build. The Bitter was a great solution. And a good looking one at that.

Early cars (the 70's ones) had a Chevy V8 I believe.

Erich Bitter is still at it I think.

I was part owner of a Senator 3.0E about 12yrs ago, was an "upgrade" from the Mk2 2.3 Ghia which we used to cruise about in. The Mk2 was always the nicer car for me.

Coincidence there. I used to have 2.8 Ghia's. I fancied a change and moved to the Senator 3.0E CD. Regretted it. Had mine in 1989 and it was a late 83 on the A. And it was going rusty already.
