Alfa has gone after 9 months of surprisingly reliable motoring however a looming MOT, untrustworthy floor pan and creaking from the front suspension signalled it was time to punt it on.

Now replaced by this 2 owner 72k with full MOT and full Honda dealer history turd :D

Spec is cracking - the only option it doesn't have is built in Sat nav but the stuff they fitted when this was new is rubbish compared to a £100 tomtom anyway.
Superb bose cd stereo with factory sub in the boot, cruise, electric full leather seats, electric sunroof as well as climate control etc etc

Drives very nicely in a typically Japanese way. Not nearly as quick as the alfa despite having on paper about the same power outputs. Vtec does kick in YO above 4500 but in truth it doesn't make that much difference.

Issues ? Well it's in at Honda on Saturday morning for an aircon regas and system clean which at £65 didn't sound too bad when kwikfit and ATS charge about the same, and it could do with a clutch slave cylinder as it's weeping very slightly at the rubber boot - £40 plus some fluid - and that's it !

Plus as it's a 2000 car it's taxed at a flat rate which is cheaper than the 2001 emissions taxed cars :D

So far I like it a lot and it will be a lot better in the warm weather once the a/c is working properly. Heated leather in the winter too . And the price of all this ? A couple of months lease payments on some crappy base spec 1 series.

2 months in and after the alfa this turd is so reliable it's boring :chuckle:

The only thing I considered essential was an aircon regas which now blows proper ice cold and has been necessary with the heat we have had recently.

Other than that there is a tiny weep from the clutch slave ............. And that's it.

It was last serviced a year ago but it's only done a few thousand miles, thee oil is clean and it runs nice so I find myself in the unusual position of not wanting to throw a service kit at it.

I am seriously tempted to not spend anything on it at all until the mot looms next year.

It's reliability does however mean I have no excuse to not sort out my e30 :D

This ones not bad to drive, it's nowhere near as thrash able as the alfa but it goes alright everything works, the seats are comfy and the factory bose stereo is great - all key boxes ticked for a daily driver :D

It's a bit juicy on fuel probably late 20's mpg but I'm only doing 8 miles a day during the week so I can live with that a £70 tank lasts about a month

Why service such a turd! Spend the money on the proper car :D
The next victim can mop up any problems developed once you get fed up of it or feel some spending might be on the horizon :)

That's the plan mate you got much on at present ? Still need someone who knows what they're doing to set the valve clearances on the e30 and if that doesn't cure the dodgy idle find out what will :D
