got a free polo 1.3s 1 owner 89k genuine, no rust,

thinking if its worth doing up selling or instead sticking a 16v gti turbo in it and keeping it as a sleeper,

its the old skool one with round lights...

Sounds like a thousand pounds to me! It will be scened to buggery within a fortnight - £150 wanka Chinese coilovers, teddy bear hanging from rear towing eye and a rusty roofrack fitted. Offer a gallon of Nitromors free if it goes for over a grand!

Unfortunately, the zone is becoming more like the BMW car club :( anything not OEM, stickers etc etc is frowned upon. I know a guy with a lovely, original looking E30 M3 who was asked to show his car on a club stand somewhere, until he opened the bonnet and they saw the S50 engine... they didn't want to know after that.
Another year or two and the engine conversion section on here may disappear altogether 8O :(

I've never really been a fan of the VW Polo, but I think it looks much better than the jelly mould Golf behind it.

i just left it in the end, coudnt be asked! went to see it, wires to battery were corroded and just broke off dont think engine was seized, but brakes sure as hell were!

tyres flat dents and dings and needed a paint job on ns rear quarter,

too much work, no space to park it cold weather and my e30 still in bits i thought fuck it!, too much hassle if bodywork was mint id have it,

the 1.3 vw's are worth a bit of money especially if its the gt engine, being an owner of a 1.3 mk2 golf for 8 years i know they are very good cars, can be prone to head gasket failure but other than that very reliable and robust,

My girlfriend is looking for one of these as her first car, or a breadvan - god knows why by I'm with her for getting something old and that has character rather then some souless japshite. Nice little honest cars.

Don't bother with the breadvans! Handle like crap and look weird, coupe s or g40, or better yet mk1 golf tintop or cabriolet if funds r short, or mk2 golf diesel and run it on veg oil
