1986 BMW E30 325i 2 door saloon for sale
I’ve decided to sell my 1986 2 door E30 325i after 6 years of ownership. It was built on 3rd April 1986 and first registered on 16th June. It was supplied by Cooper Bishopgate to the following specification:
1242 model code (325i auto 2 door)
173 Lapis blue
0212 Pacific cloth upholstery
400 Manual sunroof
308 Locking glove box
351 Brown tinted glass
497 Rear central arm rest
201 EH automatic gearbox
311 Left hand electric mirror
812 GB specification
As it’s an early RHD chrome bumper 325i, there is no ABS or central locking. I bought the car in 2014 as a rolling shell, with the intent to fit an M52 engine and M3 suspension etc. I just haven’t had the time, hence the sale now. It was converted to manual transmission in 2011, and the full Zone thread can be read here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=145693
To summarise, the car has had the following parts replaced in its recent life: powder coated subframes, new wishbones, M3 bushes, and 63 litre fuel tank.
It has a good MOT history, recording the following mileages:
2013: 121k
2012: 119k
2010: 104k
2009: 97k
2008: 95k
2007: 91k
2006: 89k
The shell of this car is excellent. It is not rotten like most E30s, and whilst the front wings need replacing and the edges of the rear arches require attention, it will not require a welding marathon to get it back on the road. The sunroof cassette and drain channels are in excellent condition, as is the scuttle panel, floors, sills, jacking points, inner arches, boot floor and chassis rails.
The other good things about the car are it’s interior (whilst the seats need a good clean, they are not worn like most), uncracked dash, pop out rear windows and the fact that all you’ll need is an engine, gearbox, prop and diff to get it back on the road. I do have some history going back to 2007 and of course the V5 is in my name.
The bad bits are the front wings as I said, as well as the edges of the rear arches. Additionally the front footwell factory lifting pads will need some attention too. The paint isn’t great and ideally you’d want to respray the whole car.
Price is £2950, which takes in to account the condition of the shell and the interior. The car is located near Maldon in Essex. Do get in touch if you’re serious about the car. Don’t get in touch if you’re going to waste my time or if you think you’ll be doing me a favour by offering me £1000.
