1990 Manual Touring with M42 16v Swap

Hi all,

Looking to sell my 1990 touring. I can only afford/have space for one car at the moment, so the E30 has to go sadly. Advertising here first as it would be nice to keep it around the Zone.

I bought it in September 2018 off of a forum member who put the car together - it started off in November 1990 as a 318i Auto and now has the M42 from an early E36 (50k ish miles on the donk iirc). There is a members cars thread of him putting it together that I can find, but I also have some of his photos that I can send over too if needed (it was a pretty comprehensive go through)- though I'm hoping that people looking at this ad will have already seen it and remember it! :) It's really solid but sadly I can't justify keeping it.

81,100 Miles (will go up a bit in the next couple of weeks).

MOT until 30th September 2020

2 Keys

Since I bought it have done less than 2000 Miles and it has been kept under the cover both winters.

Some history (old MOT's from last few years, invoices from around 2012 onward - some for previous engine)

I also have an outdoor car cover for it that I will include with the car.

Since I've has it its had;

New Fuel Filter
4 New Tires (2 Rears Last September including balancing etc)
Lots of new vacuum hoses
New Fuel Sender O-Rings
N/S/R Metal Brake Pipe(s)
De-Surface Rusted the Rear Trailing Arms (MOT Adv for surface rust)
New battery (This week)

In terms of bad bits, there's a small bubble under the paint on the passenger side arch, and it has an immobiliser that only has one fob.
The steering wheel also could definitely do with some re-trimming, and the driver's floor mat is pretty worn out. Also a small (5cm ish) crack in the dash above the middle vents.
No power steering - the pump failed and it has been removed (I still have it). The hoses have been joined together so fluid can still circulate around the rack. I wanted to get this sorted but have not been around the car for a while, so steering is obviously heavy when parking, but absolutely fine once moving.
Interior Lighting doesn't work either.

Other than that not much overall - I feel I've been really honest about the condition and stuff that isn't perfect. It hasn't wanted much since I've owned it and has been reliable (most of the miles I've done are long journeys).

Looking for around £3750. Location is Windsor, Berkshire.

Contact me by PM on here, or drop me (Luke) a message on WhatsApp at 07563421371. Any questions will be answered and can provide loads more pics if needed. Cheers!

Agreed. Very reasonable price and I'm
quite surprised it's not already sold yet to be honest!

I know these are strange times etc, but the price is right and also for those who dont know Mick (Magpie) who had so much to do with this car, his work is second to non.
No more to say on this one
