hi guys
i had a problem yesterday drivinghome from work
i heard a loud bang in the engine bay and the car started losing power then i heard another one and the car only went up to 40km/h on full throttle then it died on me.
Now i towed it home but it will start it turns for a second or 2 then it dies.
i have spark on all the 4 cilinders fuel pump is ok i can hear it at start up.
it's a 318 auto from 1985 with lpg conversion but the car has it on lpg and on normal gas so i think fueling is ok

Have you checked the condition of the rotor cap and arm?

How does it sound when it starts up - running on all four pots, or missing on one or two?

sounds good like it runs normal but it stalls right away after start up
however when i start it and give full gas it backfires into the aircleaner???

Sounds like it could be a clogged crankcase breather, or leaking vacuum pipe issue; check all the rubber hoses for splits.

k here's what i found all lines are good but are connected different then my other m10 car but that's a manual?
-the vacuum line from the distributor goes direct into the intake manifold on the other one it first goes to the little thing on the firewall.
-line that goes to the throttle body from the block is connected to the opening above the starter
-throttle body opening is open.... talking about the big connection not the little one like the dizzy cap

Worth looking into what may have been attached to it though, and ensuring it's either re-connected or plugged if required...
