E30 Zone

Hi just wandered if anyone has experienced this, it's only just started happening, as the m62 ecu puts out an earth signal I used an e30 relay supplying the original e30 fuel pump. I have a fused + going to one side of the coil, pin 85, and the earth supply from the ecu going to the other side of the relay pin 86, only recently it has started to click, which increases with more load on the engine, I did run a scan of the car and came up with camshaft sensor, now replaced but relay still ticking, could it be the ecu trying to shut off the fuel pump under load? any help much appreciated, ps car drives and pulls fine, just worried the relay and or pump will give out soon by doing this
