what have people gone for to achieve the correct tacho reading for a 6cylinder tacho?
i know that you will need to up the signal to accommodate the 8 cylinder signal coming from the ECU but what has everyone used to get this?

4-cyl code plug to instrument cluster + "signal halfer" between ECU and tacho (which takes every other pulse from rpm-signal away).
Simple and works well

I see, I remember you saying something like that before matey. Any idea how much a signal halfer is and where I can
Pick myself up one

e30.de / stifter, should be around 40...50€.
Those can be bought on many "racer shops" as well, at least in USA there seemed to be many manufacturers. Should be easy to find with google

Hmmm very interesting will, what's the owners handbook part?
Does the e30 rear plugs fit the e34 cluster?

Ahh i see, sounds interesting but the biggest problem for me is I scrapped the bloody e34
I wonder if you could take the e30 cluster apart and butcher I mean replace the e30 tachometer with the e34 tachometer? Reason is I basically have none of them sensors that the e34 cluster would want to see so it would complain more than my mom all the time.

ohh really? well would the coding plug be able to be adapted to fit the E30 cluster by any chance?
