E30 Zone

Why is there virtually nothing on S54 swaps on e30zone?

Is it cost?

Is it the degree of difficulty?

The standard ecu can now be used, and there have been numerous examples in USA to show how the brakes and sump/sub frame can be dealt with. 5 lug swaps using E36 Evo stubs & brakes TCAs and offset lollipops are well covered now.

I am amassing the parts to do this but the lack of any examples on e30zone worries me - am I missing something?
I built a kit car from scratch and fitted an M50B25TU in it, so feel confident I can carry off the S54 swap in an E30 - with a little help from others!

Any reasons not to do it?

There are plenty of S54 E30 conversions in the UK, nothing to fear about going ahead with your own conversion, as you say lots of info on the net detailing different approaches to achieve the same goal. With a variety of different engines capable of going into an E30 there's lots of choice for people and a lot of them cheaper to complete. I guess any conversion is only as good as its been done, guess like me they don't bother with build threads. GL

Whatever happened to your thread Andy? I remember some quality work going on, have you finished the car now?

Im just about finished on another conversion, should be MOT'd this coming week sometime and out on track the following week
