E30 Zone

I've been told that when you fit the s50b30 with the 5 speed box you need to use an e30 gear linkage selector, is this true or can you just use the e36 m3 one ?

Also I'm fitting a z3 quick shift so will this make any differance ?

The complete e36 m3 linkage will fit fine, Z3 1.9 shifter leaver is exactly the same as the standard m3 one so not worth doing. Z4 3.0l and z4m levers give a shorter throw but may need further mods so it wont touch the propshaft in a e30.
