so ive moved my clio servo over 55mm and fits nice, the clio servo has got a built in one way valve on the connection, does it now not need the e36 inline one way valve as the engine didnt come with it anyway?

I actually had two fitted to make the vacuum lines reach the servo, the S50 one that came with the engine (near the throttle cable linkage) and the right angled one from my M20 which is just out of shot....

If the Clio servo already has one you should be fine with that, although I've seen people use the E30 right angle one (possibly as well as the Clio one) so the pipe work is neater.

Just a homemade heatshield to cover the cone filter. I made a cardboard template and then made it from sheet stainless steel I had. It wasn't totally sealed, but curved down to the chassis rail and also followed the curve of the rad top hose, so everything on the 'hot' side was shielded. Looking at that pic, it wasn't finished then as I eventually enclosed the back around the MAF.

Not sure if it made any difference compared to an open cone filter (couldn't of done any harm), but the induction noise was immense once the Vanos kicked in  I guess it was kind of like wrapping the filter with a stainless steel megaphone lol
