E30 323i rebirth

Copying this from r3vlimited.com This was built while I was on a long deployment. Took dang near 3 years!

First off this is going to take awhile. Between work and school, don't have much time to work on the car. Original plans were for m50 swap, but since I might be going back to Japan had to scrap that since car won't pass inspection.

Plans now call for swapping front fenders, new later euro valance and lip, getting rid or trucker side markers rear quarter and returning paint back to Henna

Quick update, finally got the Front Valance and had time to swap it out. Gotta get together with another member here and get those ugly reflectors holes covered up ;)

Paint to come in the spring. Had to get it all running right first.

Time for some updates. Left the car in Illlinois to be shipped to WA state. While there, Tony(Akorcorvelos here) did some repairs. Got rid of the federalization lights and filled the holes where the rear spoiler was.

Next is rust repair and repaint in Henna.

And finally on it's way!
Ok so it's been a long time, but after pulling the carpet this is what I found :( No problem though, found a set of nice rust free floor pans that are getting put in as we speak and should have a better update next week.

Should be done sometimes next week.
Holy crap man it's been awhile since I've updated this thread!! After using the car as a DD for awhile, found out I was going to be stationed isolated duty for over a year :-( So it was off to Jpakr's shop for a mini resto :-)

Original plans were for 2.6 stroker, but after saving awhile the 24V bug bit and it was time to go all out. No M5x it was straight to S5x. Really missing turning wrenches, but duty calls.
Plans are an OEM+ theme:

S52 swap (awaiting shipping)
Moonroof install
Cd43 install
Refinish Alpina wheels (complete)
Engine bay repaint (maybe entire repaint when I get back)

Here are a few pics that I've neglected to put up. Sorry for large size

Freshly refinished Alpinas.

Moonroof installed

As of Friday, shop is a little behind schedule, but talked to John and he should have it in his shop tomorrow. Can't wait to see fresh Henna! Once again BIG thanks to John Parker for providing pics and taking on this project. PNW guys are lucky

Time to post a few more pics. Picked up the car yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes. I was shaking with anticipation and couldn't even take a test drive on my own.
Felt like I was on an episode of Overhaulin haha John had to take me on a drive. haha Car came out beautifully!

It does go pretty damn well! Drove it cross country from WA state down to Louisiana averaging 75-80 MPH the whole way

Not bad. What sort of 0-60 mph time and fuel economy (mpg) do you achieve with the S50 engine?

Haven't taken it to the track or dyno at all, so have no numbers. Fuel economy wasn't that bad on our trip either, averaging right around 29-31MPG at cruising speeds.
