Saw this and it looks like the dip stick is in the correct place for an evo sump?

Ive been told, by a person who actually had an S50 powered E30 and was driving it at an event that i was at, that on his car he used the E36 subframe complete. That would allow you to use the stock sump setup.

Other people on the internet have told me its not possible however... But that pic would lend to the argument...

I've also heard of the possibility of using the E36 subframe, but its not straight forward from memory. I can't remember the problems.
It is certainly easier to use the M50 sump (and change the oil pump on the 3.2 lump).

@JMC
can you have a think as I really interested in getting the evo sump fitted.
Really wish I had kept hold of the E36 subframe - a going to have to find a cheap one!

I'll have a word with my mate who looked into when I see him next - not sure when that will be though.

I've something going round my head about the subframe bolting up, but the front suspension became an issue for alignment - really not sure though, there's lots of useless info filling my head up lol

How come you want to use the EVO sump? Not much of an advantage as far as I know :?

Evo sump = twin pick up
plus sump is inline with the wheels and is not hanging low out the front.

York has loads of speed bumps
and also as the car is a track car am worried about using too much kerb.

The E36 crossmember does bolt up but the engine is so far back the bulkhead/trans tunnel needs major surgery

The E36 subframe has the engine mount tabs on the opposite site compared to an E30 subframe. Bolts up, but engine position is not suitable. As mentioned before, you need to cut a large hole in your fire wall to make room for th engine.
