rev counter not working on s50

hi
the rev counter is not working on my s50 conversion any idea's??
Plug laptop into c101 plug cas see rpm and their is continuity on the wire to clocks.
It did work for about 10min on 1st startup then nothing
the car is a tech 1
Don't know if I need to change coding plug on clock???
forgot to add change the clocks with two others I have but still no rpm
