:x Greetings!
Can anyone tell me the exact wire harness connection between S50b32 and a car side - e30 m3.
Also a huge problem - cutted off EWSII - can't find legend for the wires.
Any help - THANKS A LOT

Try PMing "Glenn" or "Beardymatt" as both have carried out those conversions.

thanks, i do have the diagram for ews, unfortunately it's not full.
the full for ews is:
This is for a Euro 3.2.

NOTE: EWS wire colors COULD be different. Using this info is AT YOUR OWN RISK.

There are 2 EWS boxes- one is grey with a yellow 15 pin connector, the other is black and has 2 connectors into it (one to the other EWS box and one to the antenna for the key).

Grey box
-EWS 1 (black/yellow) to X20 connector #18
-EWS 2 (small white/purple) to X20 #17 (this is the diagnostic port- not required but needed to diagnose any EWS issues)
-ignition tumbler position 3 to EWS pin 3 (big black/green)
-EWS 4 (green) to X20 #7
-EWS 5 (red/yellow) to +12V power
-EWS 7 (brown) to ground
-EWS 12 (black) to X20 #20
-EWS 13 (light blue) to EWS transmit box wire #1 (blue)
-IF USING a auto tranny EWS system- you might need to connect EWS 9 to +12V power.

EWS transmit box
-1 to EWS 13
-2 to +12V power
-3 to ground
other connector to antenna (key relationship to antenna IS important to a certain extent). If you have everything EWS working right, you should hear the grey EWS box "click" (like a relay closing) if you have proper alignment of the
key.
got it from Bruce at r3vlimited

The diagram that I posted for the EWS is full, I wired mine up following that diagram. So it is working.

You need the little black box with two green wires that goes to the ignition ring.
The color on the EWS box can vary from the year model. Min was white.

You need to put the key into the ignition ring in order to get it work.

nice pictures, damn i hadn't seen it before.
Larsen - can u tell me what for do i have to connect black wire from ews to x20's black ( speed )
i was stuck on this step and take a look on mine diagram, but it's also not full ( e.g. the engine will start but it misses diagnostic cable, i think it might be usefull someday )

Not sure what you mean now...??
It starts and run?

I have wired just as the diagram tells, no thing else.

For Eur350 you can have all that stuff taken out of your ECU.

I did that diagram ages ago. It shows the absolute minimum to get the EWS up and running. You can make extra connections to the EWS, but they are not required.

The black speed wire is used by the EWS module to shut the starter motor off if the road speed is above approx 15mph. It's only any use if you developed a fault in the ignition switch that caused the starter to carry on running after the engine has started. It also only works if you connected the starter circuit into the EWS module on pins 1 & 3.

Ian.

Oh, when I started mine up the starter kept on running after start up.
I then cut a black/yellow cable and removed a relay in the S50 loom to make that stop.

Guys, one question - RD/YL and VI/WT - they both require just +12V, is it easier to connect them with +12v ? instead of VI/WT to the ignition tumbler ?

Ive just got my S50B32 running today in my M3, check pin 15 of your C101 to see if it has a black/green in it, mine didnt and it meant the starter ran on key position 2. If this is the case you can trace a black/yellow from relays K5 & K7 in the fuse box and connect that to pin 15 to have everything running correctly. It is a connection to the unloader relays, no clue how it works yet but ive read it can affect other functions in the car.

cant help with the ews but i wouldnt want a system running constantly if it was designed only to run with the ignition on.

Mine did that as well. Started on position 2 and kept running!
I then just cut off, as I said above, the thick black yellow and removed a relay. As this picture is showing.

s50b32 installed and thanks about explanation on k5&k7 relay - it helped !
Guys, few questions - can someone explain about speedometer signal ( speed signal ):
e30 uses it directly but on the dashboard i see no changes when i drive a car, is there a trick about wiring ?
What water temperature sender do you use and how it's wired to the dashboard ?

You need to "borrow" speed signal as well, the S50 need that in order to run. If it does not have speed signal it will think it is a V-max all the time. That shaves off 50hp.

Correct speed signal wire is the brown/red behind the instrument cluster.
Just solder a wire onto that and solder that one onto pin42 in the S50DME connector, I think that wire is thin black/white.

As for the rev counter you need to change the code plug in the cluster to a E28 M5 one in order to get it correct. Easy peasy job as well.

Wow, didn't know about that 50hp missing - i will check tmrw.
Actually car is running, everything is ok except that :
My e30 m3 dashboard is dead.
What dashboard and/or it's parts can i use to receive proper:
fuel qty in tank
tacho
speed
?

And here it is:
