S50 Conversion Expertise

Guys,

I've read through a lot of the good stuff that's in this section and am considering an S50B30 conversion for my Sport. I am certainly no mechanic and even if I was handy with a wiring diagram and a soldering iron I still wouldn't have the spare time to do it myself. To this end I would have to leave her in someone else's capable hands whilst she has everything up-rated and the S50 unit installed. This is where you guys come in; where is good to have this conversion done and has anyone any recommendations?

I know that I'll never have the pleasure that Jai has of feeling that I built it but I would be simply unable to achieve the results he has. I do however want that retro look with up to date performance.

Thanks guys.

I'm slightly glad I couldn't quite stretch to JBU at the time Beardymat as I don't think I could have meddled with that one... Enjoying your new thread!

Thought I'd add that I've already contacted Fritz Bitz as they come highly recommended but I have in the past talked with Ant at A-Tech with regard to Supercharging and rebuilding my existing block as he, again, comes highly recommended.

Any tips for good places to visit and advice would be most welcome, reputation is a big thing...

You should of asked this a month or two or ago - I could of taken you for a spin in mine.

As for places to get it done, Ant (A-Tech) or Dave at Fritz would be my first port of call. They have worked together on various turbo and supercharger project, both 12v and 24v AFAIK.

I normally do all my own work so Ive not dealt with Ant, but would happily do so after speaking to Dave, its just a bit far for me (and you at a guess). I would certainly let Dave work on my car also, (he has done so a few times) and he has done so many M50/S50 conversions now, Im sure he could do them blind folded!

Thanks James,

I guess either places are good then, the guys at Fritz have been very helpful so far, indeed so has Ant at A-Tech. A visit to the guys at Fritz is not a long stretch from here so I think I'll pop over...

Hmmm... :?

Yeah, pop over and see them. Try and speak to Dave if u can, he knows the conversion inside out and will tell you what works and what doesn't etc.
