5 Speed box on S50B32

Anyone here ever fitted a 5 speed box on a M3 3.2 engine?
I know it all bolts up thats no problem its allready fitted to the car but the car can't start off the key. I know 100% the EWS is working and if you put the ign on and jump the starter it will run. I noticed I have 2 pins down by the gearbox not connected to anything and it seems a 6 speed has a gear position switch on the back of the box to stop you starting it in gear.
I am guessing I need to join these pins together but has anyone else has this issue before and how did you get around it?.
Thanks

They must be for something else, I can start my E36 Evo in gear...
Perhaps its on a SMG box you've seen them?

reverse light switch on the 5 speeder might be the two pin you refer to?

What colour are the wires? As Uwe says, possibly the reverse sensor plug

As well as the reverse light switch (2 pin injector style connector), you have a gear recognition switch. This has a pair of spade connectors.
This switch only tells the ECU that you're in a gear. It doesn't know which gear, just that your not in neutral. It won't stop the car from starting though, so you have a problem elsewhere.

I sorted it in the end from wiring diagrams seems I needed a switched power to pin 9 on the ews which I think is connected to that position switch thing to open the starter relay.

Pin 9 on the EWS module is a very rare connection. I think I only know of one other car that needed it.
As above, it has nothing to do with the gear recognition switch. It would normally connect to clutch pressure switch in the hose going to the slave cylinder. It makes you press the clutch to be able to start the car.

Thanks BMW for forcing us to jam the crank into the thrust bearings when there's no oil pressure and spinning the engine with the starter...
I HATE cars that make you press the clutch to start them. Makes me whince every time!

Ive seen a couple with the switch on the clutch line but they didnt need the clutch pressing to start
