I have AKG mounts on mine and they work great, they are pricey though.

You will be fine until you start taking hard left handers, track day etc.

Steering UJ interfere's with the exhaust manifold. This means that suddenly no more lock is available, and if timed wrongly can mean its difficult to wind the lock off as it can jam the UJ in place (happened to me on a hairpin with a pit wall on the inside as I exited and wanted to wind off the lock....not nice

)
AKG's sorted that out though

Hell
How much room you got between the UJ and manifold? I wouldnt of said mine is overly close, but then I dont know how much the engine will move. Ive had no problems with mine, but Ive not tracked it yet.

I can't remember, it was starting to rain and I couldn't see much when I was changing them as my hands obscured the view. I don't think there's loads. start blipping the throttle with the bonnet open and see how much it moves, now add the cornering forces trying to move a 100+kg block of iron around and I'd imagine it moves even further. Its nice and firm on the AKG's though.

I have just ordered a pair for the M50. Will be handy for the future. I am tight so am only using 1 though. Another E30 3.0lt 24v is using the other.
The way I see it 1 polly mount on the right and 1 635 mount on the left £9 from pelican parts and I should be golden.

I fitted one.. My steering was constantly locked up as they are actually lower than the M5 ones..

Erm, not sure, I should have measured, but I didn't have a lot of time so just pulled and swapped the other one!
There isn't a lot of spare thread..

Ha ha tight norther and brummie mate.
I have been thinking of ways to space it. Maybe make a nut for the thread like a M50/2 rockercover nut.
Drill the crossmember to suit. Big built in washer job job'd I reckon

AKG's sorted that out though

I had exactly that problem yesterday at Oulton Park (first trackday since the swap) Took me a while to work out what the problem was!!)
Am I correct in thinking the ones you are talking about in the link are part no #MM5030 ?

Thats generally what happens, day goes so quick
I was in the lazer blue chariot, JEF plate, I was pretty much sailing past most standard looking E30's even though im still shite in some corners but remember one being particularly difficult!

I did see you there, was behind you on the way home for a bit too when I was trying to avoid the traffic jam!!
I wish I'd made the time to come and find you now so that I could have taken a look under your bonnet!! See how the wiring loom really should look!
I'm back there on the 27th for a drift day with MSV. I don't suppose you're attending that one are you?

That traffic was a nightmare! My mate broke down half way through it, ended up taking us 3 hours to get to the motorway
We saw another 2 cars broken down and an accident involving 3 cars
All for the sake of a few cones and a set of traffic lights!
Wont be there for the diffin, will probably be next year before im out in it again

I thought I saw you on the Motorway but I stopped for two hours in the pub to have something to eat and wait for traffic to die down!!!!
No doubt I shall be at many track and drift days next year so will probably bump into you at some point.
I best not keep spamming the thread!
I shall report back on this thread after fitting the mounts.
