Hi guys,
Long time no post and all that..
I have developed some very slight issues with my S50B32 VANOS.
The engine is overall in absolutely excellent condition. I beleive the donor car had had a replacement engine at some p
oint not too long before I got my hands on it.
I had weeping of oil from the exhaust side solenoid cover, where the wiring passes through the casing so I thought it best to change the oil seals throughout. They were replaced with the Vitron seals DanThe sells.
When I re-assembled it all I realised I hadn't marked the position of the solenoids so fitted them back they way they cams out - as best I could.
I have now developed (after about 5k miles) a slight VANOS growl on the inlet side on over-run at about 1000 rpm.
I always run the engine on good quality fully syn and currently have Mobil 1 10w60 Motorsport formula in there.. All golden and fresh.
Help!
Incidentally I also have a slight ticking from the top end on cold startup which lasts only a minute or so.. Probably time to check the valve clearances but worth mentioning.
Kind regards,
Jai Stanley
