powering up an m40

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO POWER UP AN M40 MOTOR......NOT SUPERCHARGING
Not much - best to get it thoroughly serviced so it's as good as factory fresh if possible, get the fuel injectors ultrasonically cleaned and maybe fit a chip and a less restrictive air filter/exhaust system; those should see another 5-10 bhp.
Camshafts tend to wear on M40 engines, so check it's good, or get a new or upgraded (higher lift) one.
