Drop the seller and email and find out the manufacturer and do a search on them. Bare in mine that it is also just as important to prepare surfaces properly. I bought an engine which had been rebuilt using a quality Victor Reinz gasket set. However it would appear it was slapped together and leaked like a siv. I had it rebuilt by my engine builder who thoroughly cleaned everything perfectly and it has been spot on.

I'll be interested to hear feedback on this, the head will coming off my M42 in the new year, I don't want to repeat the exercise a year later.

One year on and 3.5k miles with no issues.

The only thing thats worrying me is the rubber profile gasket. Given these were prone to failure in the early days are they manufactured to the same quality as the "updated" genuine part from BMW.

With hindsight i would have ordered the genuine profile gasket separately for peace of mind.

Other than that its a pretty comprehensive kit.

I dont use anything other than Elring or Reinz for gaskets and seals, or Febi

I used an oil seal that came with a Payern gasket set years ago and ended up having to take the gearbox out again about 6 months later

If its unbranded I wont use it
