I havent heard of it before. There are people who have lightened the standard flywheel and claim it improves the engine. Dont expect miracles.

Never heard that either! All iS' i've dealt with have had the M40 flywheel anyway.

I changed to an ally JBR flywheel which transformed my old iS, many now change to a lightened M20 flywheel but that means swapping to an M20 starter as well i believe.

Any chance you hit '1' instead of '2' and meant to say M20, not M10?

I lightened the standard flywheel on my M42 track car and there is a noticable difference in clutch control and the way it picks up and loses revs compared to my M42 road car.

M20 starter with an M42 gear iirc.
