I've been looking around google etc for a few months on different M42 project stuff, all I can find is the purpose built aftermarket stuff like diblas. I can't use TBs because of the series regs, so will be doing a bike carb project. Fitting TBs should be similar, except that you will also need engine management. The awkward bit is that you need to get an inlet manifold fabricated to mate the head to the TBs. If you know anybody in an engineering workshop they may take it on as a project, or google bogg brothers who do quite a few. May be easier to get something made up to take bike TBs like late model R1.

Editied to add link. Some awesome stuff in the gallery.

What sort of BHP would an M42 on TBs make?

I got most of the way through fitting S50 ITB's to my M42, but I've changed my mind and will probably go turbo with this engine due to the fact ITB's on their own probably won't have much impact on performance. Coupled with some cams, decent management, etc they could be good though.
