Hi All!

Does anyone have a good write up or general good instructions on fitting an M42 engine to a non-injected 316 (one of the very last non injected 316's - manufactured May 1988).

I'm currently sourcing the following parts to do the swap .......but need to know if I'm missing anything (what about the 318is rear diff?)

M42B18 engine
M42 Engine loom and ECU
M42 Engine Mounts
Coil packs and HT leads
M42 engine exhaust manifold
M42 engine coolant hoses
318iS Getrag 240 gearbox
318iS propshaft
318iS fuel tank and fuel pump

If anyone has already done this same swap I'd love to hear from you. Good tips much appreciated.

Thanks for that Grrmachine! Looks like I'm on track as far as big parts are concerned. Do you know if there's anywhere I could get more info on the electrical side of the swap? Need to know more about fitting the engine loom and ECU from a (broken)1991 318is into my 1988 316. Any thoughts?
